Happy Thursday Friends!
Are you getting excited about the holidays?! I am holiday obsessed (I may or may not have had all my presents wrapped and under the tree for 3+ weeks now…) and one of my favourite holiday activities is attending holiday parties! I love love love getting all dressed up and celebrating the spirit of the season with friends, families, and coworkers. Truthfully, I’ll take any excuse to get glammed up, but having holiday treats and music is a bonus 😉
I recently stumbled across this stunning LBD (Little Black Dress) in the sale section of Club Monaco on a trip to the mall. Now, Club Monaco is one of those stores that I love to look at, but I’ve never bought anything from there before because they’re quite pricey, in my opinion. I adore their style of clothes but I just can’t justify the price tag most times (I usually go there for inspiration and then go elsewhere to find similar styles for cheaper!). However, I was in there a few weeks ago and saw this dress on sale with an extra 40% off for Black Friday. It was still expensive, but I also wear all black for work so I knew it was a dress I could get a lot of use out of which helped to justify the cost.
It’s a fitted, ribbed black dress that hugs every curve and hits right at the knee, which is super flattering. It has an adorable ruffle cap sleeve, which is what attracted me to it in the first place. I tried it on in store and left it on hold for 24 hours (one of my favourite ways to avoid impulse buying!) before deciding that it was worth the $100 price tag.
This dress is so versatile because it can work in so many different situations, which is AMAZING! As I mentioned, it can definitely be worn to work if you wanted, but I love it most of all as a party dress. Because of the cute ruffle details, this dress doesn’t need a ton of accessories to help it stand out. I paired it with my black Romy 100 Jimmy Choos, a black clutch, my favourite sparkly necklace, and a red lip. I choose a very classic styling for this look, but you could also definitely have some glitter or pops of colour since the dress is so neutral. I DON’T THINK I’VE EVER LOVED A DRESS MORE <3 I live for clothes that can hop from one look to another with ease, and this is definitely one of those magical pieces.
Are you attending any holiday parties this season? What’s your go-to look? Are you a fan of a classic LBD or do you love dressing in festive colours? I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂
