Happy Thanksgiving (if you’re in Canada)!
Today I thought I’d try out a new type of post, and I’d love to hear your thoughts after you give it a read! I’m going to be sharing a review of my 3.1 Phillip Lim Large Pashli, as well as giving you a sneak peek of some things I always have in my bag! Let’s get started with what’s inside first!
My favourite lip colour that I never leave home without is my Clinque Chubby Stick in 03 Fuller Fig. If you’re a fellow pale girl, you need to get your hands on this! It has the consistency of a lip balm, but a nice wash of color that goes with every outfit and look.
Another thing I always have in my bag is my red coach wallet. I got this as a gift from a friend and it’s the perfect size to carry all your essential cards and cash and is small enough to fit in any bag. I love it!
I always carry bobby pins and hair ties with me to correct any sort of hair emergency that might come up. As someone with layered curly hair, a least one piece is always sticking out somewhere it shouldn’t be, so I always need to have the supplies to fix it!
The other thing I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS have in my bag is my day planner. I’m super old-fashioned and I love to write down everything I need to do/remember for the day, so you’ll always see me with my agenda. This one is from Erin Condren, and I love it! I’ve had it for over a year now and it’s still holding up really well. Leave me a comment if you’d be interested in seeing a review of my planner in the future!
Now on to the bag review! I love sharing my thoughts on an item that I splurged on so that other people can be aware of the real-life pros and cons before they make their choice. The bag that I’m reviewing today is the 3.1 Phillip Lim Large Pashli with white faux-crocodile embossed leather on the body and smooth black leather on the sides. It’s a fairly large tote bag that can fix almost everything in it, which is what drew me to it in the first place!
The side zippers can be left either closed or open (like I have pictured above). It has a small zippered inner pocket, but otherwise it doesn’t have any compartments. This is one complaint that I have about this bag – all of your stuff just kind of floats around once you put it in there, so I sometimes bring my own zippered pouches and place things in them so it’s a bit easier to find. A pro about this bag is that it can easily fit a clipboard, large notepad, or 15 inch laptop, something that lots of other bags can’t do.
The hardware on this bag is a gunmetal grey, which I absolutely love. I don’t think any other colour would have suited this bag, so I’m glad they chose the dark grey. The hardware changes depending on the colour of the bag you get, so that’s a nice little touch. In terms of the hardware on the front of the bag, it can be a bit finicky if you’re trying to grab something quickly and then close your bag again. You have to undo the top handle buckle, then undo the front flap, grab whatever you’re looking for and then do it back up again. So with that being said, this bag isn’t ideal for going shopping if you’re going to need to get in and out of it 20 times in a few hours, depending on how much you shop 😉 It also comes with a really nice, adjustable shoulder strap that’s really comfortable if you’re carrying too much to wear it in the crook of your arm.
Overall, I love this bag and I love it’s style. It’s perfect for a working gal, or someone still in school with lots to carry around. I get complimented on it wherever I go, and I definitely think it’s going to be a classic style in a few years. I don’t think the small Pashlis are very practical, but the medium and large ones can definitely hold a lot and are a super fashionable tote bag. They run about $1,200 CAD, which is in the middle of the road for a designer bag. I got this guy from Love that Bag, a designer bag consignment site which often has new or almost-new bags for fabulous discounts. Definitely check them out if you’re in the market for a new bag!
I’d love to hear what you thought of this post! Let me know in the comments or on any of my social media sites (all linked below) and go follow me if you haven’t already! See you on Thursday!
