Happy Thursday Blog Friends!
Today is my second instalment of my monthly sales series. Every month, certain items go on sale based on the fashion calendar. My mission is to provide you with insight into exactly what will be on sale each month so you can get the best bang for your buck. These sales are mostly universal, so you should be able to notice the same things on sale wherever you are.
There are lots of great items on sale in September to keep an eye out for, including:
1. Sunglasses – As the cooler weather begins to creep in, many people stop thinking about sunny days and are no longer on the hunt for the perfect pair of sunglasses. This is the best time to scoop up a great deal on a designer pair you’ve been eyeing, or stock up on some cheaper pairs for next summer. My favourite place to score great deals on sunglasses is at Winners. Without fail, they always have a pair under $20 that are fun, functional, and fit my face well.
2. Summer Clothing – If you didn’t grab it in August, now is your chance! If you want a more detailed breakdown of which summer items will be drastically reduced, check out my August Sales post. The takeaway is that now is the time to pounce on any summer merchandise before it’s all gone.
3. Sweaters – September = sweater weather. In order to draw you in and get you shopping for fall, stores will often have promotions on new merchandise. In autumn, sweater sales are rampant in the hopes that you will buy one sweater at 20% off and then $200 of other, non-sale stuff. While the $200 might not be a great bargain, the sweaters certainly are! Shop away, fellow fall lovers, shop away!
4. Athletic Gear – If you’re someone sporty, September is a great time to shop for athletic gear. It’s likely that stores will be bringing in their warmer clothing now and they’ll be slashing prices on their shorts and tank tops to make room for flannel leggings and long sleeved running shirts (if you’re in a place that has cold seasons, of course!). Even if you live somewhere warm, stores will still be getting rid of their summer prints, making this an awesome time to capitalize and save some money on something you’d ordinarily buy at some point anyway. I got a pair of colourful LuluLemon capri pants (pictured left) for just $20 in September (regularly $120), all because the print was too “summery” come autumn.
There you have it! Are you looking forward to shopping the sales this month? I know I’ll definitely be on the hunt for some new sweaters, and also for some sunglasses for next year. No guarantee that I’ll remember where I put them by the time next summer rolls around, but hey, the effort was there.
Make sure you sign up for e-mails at the bottom of my blog and check back on Monday for a new post!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend! 🙂
